Getting Ready for National Night Out (NNO) block parties are on Tues 5 Aug 2025 in the evening)  Strengthening connections between neighbors is more vital than ever! Get Ready for NNO (National Night Out block parties are on Tues Aug 2025 in the evening)

  • We’re inviting neighbors to host block parties to strengthen connections between all neighbors (vital, now more than ever!)
  • Option to register your block event with the City, to close off your street)
  • We’re inviting neighborhood green teams to send volunteers to visit block parties, meet the hosts and sign up block captains to receive regular updates they can share them with neighbors.
  • Option to share Home Energy Squad (HES) door hangers at block parties (we will have them available on Tuesday night)
  • The Green Teams Coalition – is working to set up an independent city-wide peer learning network of block leaders.

Let’s get our home energy improvements done in 2025 & access $2k IRA home energy tax credits (will be gone in 2026)

  1. Support more neighbors to schedule Home Energy Squad visits to get a list of recommended energy improvements
  2. Host/attend a follow up conversation with neighbors to talk over their recommended actions with CEE staff and neighbors who have already the actions (bring your Home Energy Report/Plan) choose their priority improvements (i.e. replacing A.C. units with a Heat Pump.) and decide how to pay for them (zero percent financing is often available.) Interview contractors (bulk discount?) See our Home Energy Reference Sheet which lists utility, green cost share, IRA rebates
  3. Schedule the work to be done with a recommended contractor in the summer or fall. Contractors will line up the utility and green cost share incentives and get you the paperwork you need. When you send in your 2025 Tax Return include the Form 5695 when to access up to $2k in residential energy credits.
