The Columbia Park Neighborhood Association and Marshall Terrace Neighborhood Organization are partnering with Resilient Cities and Communities to increase increase our neighborhood tree canopy with support from a MN DNR ReLeaf Grant. We’re working to increase our neighborhood tree canopy from 15% up to 30% to keep our homes cool over the summer, improve air quality, lower heat index, intercept rain and provide habitat for song birds.   1. Adopt a boulevard tree: Give a street-side tree the watering and care it needs to thrive.
  2. Request a new tree for your yard & Arborist home visit to help choose a good spot & variety
  3. Host a block tree walk: Gather with neighbors for to stroll with an Arborist learn how to identify the the trees on your block & signs of tree health
  4. Help at a community tree planting event: Roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty
  5. Involve neighbors as a Tree Guardian opportunity for hourly stipend.
