  1. Launch a city wide network of neighborhood tree volunteers  (Tree Steward training in the fall,  zoom continuing education sessions in the winter) Recruiting, training and staying in regular contact with new volunteer Tree Stewards in more neighborhoods across the city who can (example campaigns) invite neighbors to water new boulevard trees, talk with neighbors with a good spot for a tree to choose a tree they want, watch out for and report for sick elms and ash alert the MPRB to get them tested, promote the city’s subsidy for hazard tree removal, organizing tree planting along freeways with MNDOT/Hennepin Co. etc.
  2. Continue / expand our collaborative outreach to open up youth & young adult Green Career Pathways in forestry and tree care.
  3. Create Neighborhood Tree Dash Boards so we can see our progress (% of tree coverage, plant able spaces (especially near freeways), tree diversity, etc.
  4. Meet with and welcome Chris McMaster our new MPRB Director of Forestry to explore new ways we can work together and offer our ideas as Minneapolis is developing our new City Private Property Tree Preservation ordinance this summer.
